• MOORE, OK - 2013

    5.20.13

    In the afternoon, a large and extremely violent EF5 tornado ravaged through Moore, Oklahoma, and adjacent areas, with winds estimated up to 210 mph, killing 24 people and injuring 212 others, including several children whose school was hit. More than 1,000 homes and the local medical center were destroyed.

  • ROWLETTE, TX - 2015

    12.26.15

    The day after Christmas, an F4 tornado with winds of 166-200 mph hit the cities in east Dallas County. It was the strongest of 12 twisters in a monster storm that killed 13 people in Texas. The direct hit in Rowlett has been called the most violent and deadly December tornado in North Texas history.

  • SPRINGFIELD, LA - 2016

    8.12-22.16

    In prolonged and unpredicted rainfall resulted in catastrophic flooding; more than three times the amount of rain dropped by Hurricane Katrina. Thousands of homes and businesses were submerged in fifty-six of Louisiana's sixty-four parishes.

  • HURRICANE HARVEY, TX - 2017

    8.25.17

    Harvey made landfall in Texas as a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds up to 130 mph, resulting in 103 deaths (directly and indirectly) and causing $125 billion is damage.

  • DALLAS, TX - 2019

    10.20.19

    Ten tornadoes touched down in north Texas. One being an EF-3 in Dallas with estimated top winds of 140 mph. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported. The tornado left such extensive and costly destruction that many retailers and homeowners had difficulties processing claims.

A letter from the Elsenburg family of Celina 

Your support of Grace Bridge helped our family when we lost everything in a house fire back in August. After Grace Bridge initially gave my family clothes and other basic necessities, the community response was so great that we were able to help others by donating the extra back to Grace Bridge. After all was said and done we had the privilege of donating back more than we received from Grace Bridge's initial contributions.

Grace Bridge staff and volunteers have deployed in the aftermath of many local and surrounding area disasters. Whether natural or otherwise, it is never easy to see the heartbreak caused by the loss of cherished keepsakes and property.

While we can not replace the important items, we assist with immediate essentials such as food, personal care items, and clothing. We continue to pray over and serve families by providing furniture, home goods and other needed items throughout the re-establishing process.
